In Home Couples Session in New York City - Mads + Kt

A couple of months ago, I put out a model call asking for any willing couple to let me photograph them, in their undies, blasting my sad love songs playlist, while I order them around and make a mess of their bed. Mads & Kt were the first to make the list. And I am so grateful it was them.

For any other session, say Family or Postpartum, I always come in with a plan. So to come over to Mads’ apartment in New York, with nothing but my camera and curiosity, I was very nervous.

But let me tell you, arriving to their spacious and bright New York apartment, with Kt making coffee, a breakfast bagel on the way, good jams on, and an immediate sense of safety & comfort had me feeling SOOO good and taken care of. There was so much trust between the three of us, and that is without a doubt why we got the results that we got.

My initial approach to this shoot was to try and harness the feeling of longing for someone, whether that looks like a long distance relationship, a break up, heart ache, or the longing you feel when your partner is right next to you in bed. Some images stand alone and were fun little experiments, while other’s definitely have more of a flow to them. It was fun to go in with intentions while also allowing the session to bloom however it wanted.

To Mads & Kt, thank you. You two played a huge roll in what only feels like the beginning of something for me.
