At Home Postpartum Session in Santa Monica, CA // Meet the Leslies

When Lauren first reached out to me, it was months before her daughter, Decker, was born. Lauren is what most photographers would call, your “ideal client”; because she loves this craft as much as I do. She had a vision and we executed it flawlessly.

I came over to their Santa Monica condo in the very early hours of a Sunday morning, before their baby was awake. The sun was barely peaking over the horizon when I got there. Lauren greeted me at the door in her underwear and quietly gestured for me to come inside. Their home was cool and dark. You could still feel the remnants of sleep in the air. Lauren tiptoed back into bed as I geared myself up. Once I was ready to go, Lauren and her husband, Michael, gently woke their daughter, as I became a fly on the wall and documented their new morning routine.

These are the sessions that bring me to life. These are the sessions that keep me going. I love nothing more than to capture time for you so that you can show your children when they’re older and say, “look here, this is how life was with you. It was new and so different, but so real and raw.”
