At Home Family Session in Los Angeles | Anonymous

I first met this family when I was starting out as a Birth Photographer. I needed to build my portfolio so I was charging pretty cheap, like $300 for a Birth Session cheap. But everyone starts somewhere! So these parents-to-be took a chance on me and invited me into their birth space. It was one of the most incredible nights of my life. It was the birth of their little babe that locked me into this business.

Fast forward to just over a year later and I’ve photographed this family FIVE times! Knowing families on this level of intimacy is something I did not anticipate when jumping into this line of work. To witness a person’s birth and then continue to document their first year of life is a privilege. This also hits deeper and different for someone that isn’t sure they want kids (me). But that’s a discussion for another day. For now, please enjoy snippets of a glorious morning with these cutie pies.
